AbstractRadio session - may 2021

Intrepid AbRadders!

Yes indeedy - it's time once again to polish your shiny disco balls and strut your funky stuff, sho' nuff!
Our latest venture, yet another cut-out-and-keep AbRad classic, is a welcome return to the wonderful world of funky disco house.

Featuring a wealth of summer vibes & cutting edge talent, peppered with a few recent crackers and the odd "exclusive", all released over the last couple of years, all sublimely strung together by our dedicated and, frankly, somewhat stir-crazy Abstract elves.

Don't say we don't spoil you.

AbstractRadio session - april 2021

Well, what have we here?

Quality street?
Liquorice allsorts??
Pick 'n mix???

Well, it's undeniably a mixed bag...

It's noodly
It's deep
It's kinda jazzy
It's seductively sophisticated
It's a wee bit groovy
It's occasionally a lil' bit fluffy, a lil ' bit quirky & a lil' bit funky
It's a soulful, spiritual thing
It's a vibratory thing
And yes, you're quite correct
It's our latest session

AbstractRadio session - january 2021

Hi, hello, namaste and konnichiwa!

Yep, like the veritable bad penny, we have returned.
Through the dark nights our lovable - nay, adorable - AbRad elves have been beavering away feverishly down in the cellar here at Abstract Towers, and have knocked up a fine selection of fruity funky disco flavours for your deliberation.

This month's extravaganza features a whole host of fresh stuff, along with a couple of timeless old vinyl beauties from the vaults to round things off at the end.

AbstractRadio session - september 2020

Salut!

As far as anyone can tell, human beings have been dancing together for 10,000 years, no doubt much more.
But, for the time being at least, we dance alone - no shared sweat or euphoria, no collective experience, unless you count twitch & zoom dance-a-longs, but who does?

In the meantime, we've witnessed a huge proportion of the entertainment industry being brought to its knees - there's a temptation here to go off on a serious rant about greedy djs & promoters, covid raves and misguided & nefarious governmental practices, but we shall resist.

Suffice to say, we live in interesting times.

All things must pass; even though we can't dance together, the music plays on regardless.
And for that we are immensely thankful.

Stay safe & enjoy the tunes.

Love & socially distanced hugs,

x

AbstractRadio - lockdown session one - july 2020

Collected connoisseurs of abstraction ... hello once again!

This is the first of a small number of live lockdown sessions we're knocking out over the course of 2020.
Originally broadcast through twitch.tv on 4.7.2020, the video is now available for viewing on youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXjaVOzJ3uI

Featuring a slew of relatively new[ish] material, we've included some grooves, some tribal stuff, even the odd cheesy piano - some tracks may be pretty recogniseable as they're rehashes of older tunes.
As with all AbRad sessions, every one's a winner, but expect the real cream to appear nearer the end!

Stay safe and all that,
Peace, love and hyraxes,
x

AbstractRadio session - february 2020

Hail, fellow pioneers of an abstract groove!

After no small hiatus, here's another maelstrom of sultry dancefloor silliness, featuring easily the finest tune of 2019, along with a couple of stunners from Sweetpower [more from them anon]. Everything's pretty much up-to-date & mainstream this time round [in our opinion], and we've thrown in the odd old-timer for the sake of balance.

If you're pleasantly tickled by the gospel of AbRad, please help us spread the word and REPOST!

Love and a paddle of platypuses,

AbstractRadio session - august 2019

*** aka - the strange case of the unrelenting hi-hat ***

And lo, after many months' absence, the stranger returned from the mountains, laden with an abundance of great tunes.

And the golden ones rejoiced,
For all was good in the land [apart, of course, from all the usual stuff].

Here's the much anticipated, long-awaited and severely overdue companion piece to our last [mar 2019] session.
Consider it as a significantly bigger, badder elder sibling to the other.

AbstractRadio session - march 2019

Welcome back to the groove AbRadders.

Here's our first housed-up offering of 2019 - consider this as a warm-up: a shot-across-the-bows, so to speak, an amuse bouche in anticipation of next month's blockbustering biggie!

Featuring, as ever, a compendium of upfront tunage on a deep and disco/filtered soul tip, with a fair amount of triple-deck [and sometimes quadruple] trickery thrown in to keep your ears toasty.

Love and ferrets,

x
